I Peter 1:3
“honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness andrespect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.”
As I was reading through Peter this morning this passage stood out to me the greatest. To always be prepared to make defense for the hope that is in me, and to do so with gentless and respect. Why do I have hope? even when all shit has hit the fan and it seems like nothing is going right. Well, maybe it’s it’s not going right? but! As I think through and study those of good faith througout history and even my own life, I know that God has always kept his word. To know that my reward is not always here but also in heaven, to remember the trials Christ went through as a man yet still underwent an unbelievable death for us, the human race. For me. I think of Job of Paul. As I am a a true follower of Christ the trials these guys went through is much greater than anything I have even come close to. They are an encouragement to me an I hope that in this modern society I can exemplify my faith and hope as Paul talks about in this passage for the unbeliever and the weary, with gentleness and respect, continuously pointing towards Christ.
